Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are a budding technology having a huge potential to change the way we live. Wireless sensor networks are also used to enable better data archiving in scientific studies. Wired sensors have proved to be helpful in various applications but are prone to cases of wires getting cut/ damaged. Wireless sensor networks can enable independent monitoring and avoids entangling or damage of wires. Wireless sensor architecture can be easily adapted for other applications such as home automation, environment monitoring, ship hull monitoring, underwater acoustics and biomedical diagnosis. With the rise in development of mobile applications and design of wireless sensor networks, customers can get the advantage of both the worlds by interfacing both using wireless connectivity.
